The Queen’s Gambit has been a huge hit for Netflix. In the first 28 days it was available on the streaming giant, it set a record for the most viewers ever for a scripted limited-run series, with more than 62 million accounts watching at least part of an episode. Other highly successful shows we were proud to work on include Westworld, Fear of the Walking Dead, Krypton, NOS4A2, To All The Boys 2&3, Dash & Lilly.
Despite the challenges of 2020, the Chicken Bone FX stayed strong, efficient, and reliable. While being a largely virtual company as always been a perk, we found ourselves incredibly grateful as the COVID-19 pandemic descended on us. While many visual effects companies were scrambling to figure out how to shift to a remote workforce from both a technology perspective and a people perspective, Chicken Bone FX was already there.
Something that makes Chicken Bone FX different is a focus on work life balance for our employees. To that end, Chicken Bone FX from its inception has been able to offer artists the ability to work from home. All of the technology, processes, and communication tools required to pull off being a remote visual effects company has been fully established, vetted, proven, and evolved over 10 years. Never did we expect COVID however, we were ready for it. Chicken Bone FX barely skipped a beat in the transition to 100% of our employees working from home. The industry slow-down was and still does prove challenging however, we know when production picks up again, we are ready. If working from home is the new normal, we are entirely comfortable and capable. As virtual production evolves and accelerates due to the pandemic and technological advances, we are growing our capabilities in that area, as well.
As we look forward to the rest of what 2021 holds, we look forward to more high-quality visual effects for series television, episodics, and beyond while maintaining a culture that puts people first and keeps them safe.
